Trans Care BC - Information and navigation for gender-affirming health and wellness supports.

Trans Care BC supports the delivery of equitable and accessible care, surgical planning, and peer and community support for trans people across the province. Trans Care BC provides a BC-wide information service and resource hub.
Trans Care BC's care coordination team helps connect people in BC to gender-affirming health and wellness supports. Based out of Vancouver, the small team includes health navigators, nurses, peers, and admin support staff. The team has access to the medical director (GP) for consultation as needed. The team works alongside service providers and community contacts from across the province to help people find the information they need to access gender-affirming health care and supports.
Trans Care BC provides information and navigation support for:
  • Adults seeking gender-affirming health care
  • Youth, young adults, or family members of youth seeking gender-affirming care
  • Parents of gender-creative children
  • Health care providers
  • Family members, caregivers, partners, teachers, or friends
Trans Care BC helps people:
  • Access information related to any trans health or wellness related question
  • Learn about options for gender transition
  • Access system navigation support if they're unsure about care options and pathways
  • Find a gender-affirming family doctor
  • Find a gender-affirming counsellor or mental health provider
  • Find support or social group in their area
    Trans Care BC does not provide direct clinical care or counselling services, but they can refer clients to someone in their area who does.
