Mindfulness-Based Stress Management (MBSM) Group Medical Visits

Offers mindfulness in-person and virtual Group Medical Visits to individuals living in the lower Sunshine Coast.
The mindfulness-based stress management (MBSM) group medical visit is an 8-week group held in-person and/or virtually at least 3 times a year on the lower Sunshine Coast (fall, winter and spring). Each session is 90-minutes and run weekly for the 8 weeks. The mindfulness group is facilitated by physician Dr. Rahul Gupta, a certified Mindfulness teacher and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. The group is facilitated in a safe, supportive and participatory environment. This group covers:
  • guided mindfulness practices
  • discussions on stress physiology and working with pain
  • cultivating compassion for self and others
  • mindful communication


Patients dealing with any of the condition(s) listed below may benefit from the group:
  • anxiety / insomnia /rumination
  • depression / burnout
  • symptoms of trauma
  • chronic physical disease
  • chronic or complex pain
  • immune disorders
  • low confidence / negative self-talk
All groups are covered by MSP and facilitated by Dr. Rahul Gupta. To be eligible patients require a primary care provider referral and must live on the Sunshine Coast. This program serves individuals living in Gibsons, Sechelt, and Pender Harbour (lower Sunshine Coast).


Cost: The medical visit is covered by MSP. There is however a $40 fee for program workbook. Financial support is available to cover that cost.
