Violence Prevention and Victim Support Services - qathet SAFE

Provided by Powell River & Region Transition House Society

Offers various violence prevention and victim support services to individuals in the qathet area.
Provides a variety of programs that aim to provide a safety net for individuals and families experiencing violence. The following programs are offered:
  • Men Choose Respect: Provides an early intervention and comprehensive support plan to men, and those who identify as men, who want to contribute to safe, respectful, caring relationships in their lives. The Men Choose Respect Program supports men through a one-on-one intake session, 9 weekly 2.5-hour men’s group sessions and resources and program referrals.
  • Stopping the Violence Counselling: Offers free one-on-one counselling and group support to women 19+ who have experienced violence and abuse.
  • Stopping the Violence Outreach: Helps women who are in or who are leaving an abusive relationship to live in safety.
  • PEACE (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counseling, Empowerment): The PEACE program for Children and Youth Experiencing Violence is a free, confidential program, offered across BC, for children and youth aged 3 to 18. The program provides individual and group counselling support for children and youth as well as support for non-offending parents and caregivers.
