A variety of programs supporting pregnant women, new moms, parents, caregivers, children and youth.
The following programs are offered:
  • Youth In Transition: This program helps youth to develop skills for transitioning to adulthood and independent living with confidence and success.
  • Youth Outreach: The Youth Outreach program works to increase youth safety by connecting and referring youth to local resources, focusing on risk reduction and providing the community with a broader understanding of youth issues.
  • Support Services to Children: This program provides support to children and youth with developmental and physical challenges to optimize their potential and quality of life. Counsellors work with children and youth individually and in small groups in the community To access this program, clients must be referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
  • Circle of Support: The Circle of Support program provides support, training and consultation for children and youth with Complex Developmental Behavioural Conditions (CDBC) and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
  • Kids In Motion: The program was created to provide the community with the opportunities to assist children with special needs to participate in active living.
  • Infant Development Program: The Infant Development Program (IDP) provides support for families of children aged birth to three who have a developmental delay, are at risk for a developmental delay, or have been diagnosed with a disability.
  • Physiotherapy Services: Physiotherapy Services provides intervention to support children (birth to school entry) to develop the gross motor skills necessary to participate in physical activity and play as independently as possible.
  • Supported Child Development Program: SCD is a community based program that offers services to children from birth to 12 years of age that require extra support in child care settings, and if necessary SCD is able to provide support up to the age of 19 based on the needs of the child.
  • Bellies & Babies: A group for pregnant women and new parents with babies birth to one year.
  • Child Care Resource and Referral Program: Families can get information on choosing quality child care, referrals to child care that best suits their needs, assistance with child care subsidy applications, workshops and access to a lending library of toys, books and parenting information.
  • Parent and Tot Drop In: Parent Tot, a Family Resource Program, is a free program that offers a stimulating play group for children birth to six. It’s a place where parents and caregivers can get support, information and resources. It’s a great chance to take a break from the home routine and to connect with other parents and caregivers and to have fun with your children.
